Acrylic makes an excellent cover for sensitive equipment and controls, especially in industrial or dirty environment where components need to be visible and accessible but protected from grime or wear.

You could cut perspex sheet to leave only controls (such as switches or buttons) exposed, or create a hinged hood to cover the entire panel when not in use.
